Sir Peter Hendy, Chair, Network Rail 
Appointed to the board: 2015 

Sir Peter Hendy is the Chairman of Network Rail, having joined in July 2015. Sir Peter was previously commissioner of Transport for London (TfL) in 2006, having served since 2001 as TfL's managing director of surface transport. He led, and played a key role in preparing for, the successful operation of London's transport for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. He was formerly deputy director UK Bus for FirstGroup and previously MD of CentreWest London Buses. He started his transport career in 1975 as a London Transport graduate trainee. Sir Peter was elected president of the International Public Transport Association (UITP) in May 2013. He is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Highways and Transport and a fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers. He was knighted in the 2013 New Year's Honours List, having been made CBE in 2006.

Dave Zamsky has been with UPS for more than three decades, building products and services to meet customers’ supply chain needs and helping to drive profitable growth for the organization. He is responsible for managing and directing the global UPS Capital Marketing and Product Development group. Among his accomplishments, Dave successfully launched new risk mitigation solutions for the retail and healthcare markets, as well as managed the creation and launch of UPS Trade Direct, where UPS consolidates your shipment to the destination country and, upon clearance, deconsolidates into individual shipments direct to the end customer. He’s a member of the Project Management Institute and the Product Development and Management Association. Dave holds a bachelor’s from the University of Central Florida and a master’s certificate in project management from George Washington University.

Formerly a Chief Economist and Strategist, Courtis lectures at Keio and Tokyo universities, Japan’s two most prestigious educational institutions, l’Institut d’etudes politiques, Paris, and in universities in North America. He is a member of the boards, advisory councils, and trustee of a number of international firms, universities, and research institutes in Asia, Europe and North America. 

Dr. Courtis received an undergraduate degree from Glendon College in Toronto and an M.A. in international relations from Sussex University in the United Kingdom. He earned an M.B.A. at INSEAD (the European Institute of Business Administration), where he was recipient of the Heath Prize, and received a Doctorate with honors and high distinction, from l’Institut d’etudes politiques, Paris. He has lived and worked in Asia for more than two decades.

CILT Growth Ambassador for the Americas Appointed


Monique Kack-North from CILT North America has been appointed as CILT Growth Ambassador for the Americas. Monique has been requested by CILT President, Paul Brooks, to lead the development of growth strategy and the associated membership for all countries in the Americas spanning North, South and Central America.

 

The role is an important new additional member of the International Management Committee chaired by Kevin Byrne. This role enables Monique to link into the wider Institute strategy led by the IMC and the group of International Vice Presidents on that committee. David Collenette is the existing IVP for North America on the IMC and Monique will continue to work closely with David on North America activities. Monique will also become a member of the Presidential Task Force for the development of our Global Corporate Membership proposition. 

 

Monique is currently Vice President of Logistics for TJX Canada. TJX Canada is the leading off price retailer in Canada. She is responsible for leading all aspects of Inbound Logistics including merchandise flow operations, customs regulatory, trade compliance and transportation, and consolidation and delivery to store operations. Monique is also responsible for developing strategy and execution for logistics in TJX Canada.

 

Monique Kack-North is a business leader with an extensive background in supply chain operations in major industries as well as being the Director and Chair of CILT North America’s Strategic Planning Committee.

 

2013 Annual Transport Workshop & AGM

CILTNA Annual Transport Workshop, AGM, Reception and Dinner was held in Ottawa on November 18, 2013 with over 110 members and guests in attendance. The Hon. Lisa Raitt, Minister of Transport was they keynote dinner speaker. Among the many issues the Minister addressed was rail safety and the next day the Canadian Transportation Agency announced the review of Railway Third Party Liability Insurance Coverage Regulations.

The Transport Workshop had great speakers on hot topics along with pertinent discussions on the 2014-15 review of the Canadian Transportation Act! Attached are copies of presentations at the Workshop. Three new National Directors were elected to the Board to replace retiring Directors Ed Cuylits and Hazem Ghonima who have served CILTNA very well during their time on the Board and were thanked by Chair Hon David Collenette.
