It is with a heavy heart that we announce that on Monday, April 14th, long-time colleague, Gerlando (Gerry) Bruno, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family following his lengthy and courageous battle with cancer.

It is not an exaggeration to say that throughout his remarkable 40-year career in transportation, no one has made a more lasting an impact on our industry in this country.

Whether it was the development of aviation policy in Canada, fostering better collaboration with our US colleagues on border issues, or marketing our industry to the world  – Gerry got more done in one day than most of us do in a month.  But it was not only what he did – as much as it was the way that he did it:  mentoring, coaching, and supporting all who came in contact with him along the way.  He was one-of-a-kind and will be missed by many.

Our thoughts are with his wife Janice and family. They have asked for privacy at this difficult time and will let us know about a Celebration of Life in the weeks to follow.
