Moderated by: John Dymond, Retired Business Development Manager, BCIT School of Transportation.

Shaun Stevenson, President & CEO, Prince Rupert Port Authority
Shaun Stevenson has led the Prince Rupert Port Authority as President and Chief Executive Officer since 2018 and has been a key contributor to PRPA’s success since 1997. Shaun’s focus on growing the Prince Rupert gateway through developing, diversifying, and enhancing numerous port business and infrastructure projects builds on the Port of Prince Rupert’s position as Canada’s 3rd largest port, anchoring over $60 Billion in trade. Shaun holds an MBA degree from Simon Fraser University and lives in Prince Rupert with his wife Cindy.
Geoff Morrison, Director, BC Regulatory and Operations, Canadian Association of petroleum Producers (CAPP)
Geoff Morrison holds both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Economics from McGill University. His career includes significant roles such as General Manager of Global Public Affairs for British Columbia and Vice President at Hill & Knowlton. He has contributed to many of Canada’s top energy companies, addressing complex resource development and policy challenges. Currently, Geoff serves as Director of British Columbia for the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP). Early in his career, he spent five formative years in Calgary, the hub of Canada’s oil and gas sector, before relocating to Victoria in 2001 to further his career in public policy and energy.
Throughout his career, Geoff has focused on providing advice that fosters practical, balanced, and sustainable public policy solutions. In his current role, he continues his pragmatic advocacy for Canada’s natural gas and oil sectors, promoting responsible resource development to address the growing need for secure, reliable, and affordable energy.
Geoff is also an established board member of the B.C. Oil and Gas Research and Innovation Society (OGRIS). This organization supports research and innovation to improve the environmental performance and regulation of the oil and natural gas industry, including restoration projects developed in partnership with Indigenous communities.
Originally from Southern Ontario, Geoff is married and has three children. Two of his children are currently attending universities in Nova Scotia and Quebec, while his eldest recently graduated from the University of Victoria. In his personal time, he enjoys sailing, skiing, and the occasional wilderness adventure.
Jorge Lobo, Senior Manager, LNG Business Development at FortisBC
Jorge has been with FortisBC for more than 14 years in areas such as energy efficiency and Renewable Natural Gas project management. For ten years, Jorge has led the development of innovative LNG delivery systems for industrial customers including mining, power generation and marine.
Jorge leads the teams in charge of LNG Transportation Asset Operation and Maintenance, LNG Logistics, and Safety, Education and Compliance within the FortisBC LNG group. His responsibilities include LNG Business Development, delivering LNG safely and reliably, LNG awareness sessions for employees, customers, first responders and external stakeholders; as well as ensuring LNG operations comply with local, national and international regulations. The successful implementation of LNG delivery and supply systems has been instrumental to the growth of FortisBC into the LNG export and LNG as a marine fuel markets.
Jorge has participated as an LNG supply subject matter expert supporting the Society for Gas a Marine Fuel, SEA-LNG and is an active member of the Vancouver Maritime Centre for Climate’s Working Board.
Before joining FortisBC, Jorge led an EPC company where he developed major infrastructure projects with custom solutions to private and public customers. Jorge is a professional engineer and holds a MBA from the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia.
Jorge is a proud father of 13-year-old twins, a volunteer coach of two soccer teams and likes to run, bike, swim, sail, and ski.
Deborah Baker MBA, BA, former Council Member, Squamish Nation
K’ana (ancestral name). Squamish Nation. Namgis and shishalth descendant. Proud mother of 5 adult children. Grandma of 1. Former Squamish Nation Council Member (2005-2025). Director Community Programs, VCF. Board Member of ANOS. Healing ❤️🩹 journey over 30 years. Lived experience as a Indian Residential School Survivor.
John Dymond, MBA, CMILT
John Dymond retired from BCIT in 2022 after fifteen years there. He served as Business Development Manager for the School of Transportation for five years liaising with faculty, government and industry on Transportation and energy related initiatives. His first ten years at BCIT were in the School of Business and Media, first as faculty and later as Program Head.
Prior to BCIT, John was a facilitator for TAB, working with CEOs of privately held businesses, facilitating board meetings and providing private coaching. Previously, John was a partner in a machinery manufacturing business as Director of Manufacturing and, later, President.
John has a Queen’s MBA and a BCIT diploma. He and his wife enjoy retirement in Tsawwassen and spend much of the summer out in the boat somewhere on the BC coast.
