About the speakers:

Philippe Rheault, Director of The China Institute at the
University of Alberta and former senior Canadian diplomat
with 25 years experience in Asia will share insights on
opening up new markets for Canadian exports in China and
East Asia, including prospects for Alberta crude oil flowing
via TMX and for broader trade diversification in the region.

 

 

 

Nicholas Schneider, Director of Projects at Teekay
Shipping (Canada) Ltd., will discuss the tanker industry and
operations on Canada’s West Coast. Teekay is a leading
provider of international crude oil transportation. With a
fleet of approximately 50 tankers and 2,200 seagoing and
shore employees, Teekay provides marine services to the
world’s leading energy companies.

 

 

About the moderator:

Bikramjit Kanjilal, Director, Burnaby and Westridge Terminals

Bikramjit Kanjilal is a marine professional with long experience in the marine industry. In his career Bikram has sailed globally, including as master in command of Very Large Crude Carriers, and subsequently held senior roles in ship management, mainly dealing with oil and gas shipping, before transitioning to lead marine development related to the Trans Mountain Expansion Project. He is currently the Director of Burnaby and Westridge Terminals, and continues to oversee all marine aspects of Trans Mountain’s operations. He holds a Master Mariner Certificate of competency from Transport Canada and management certificates from the University of British Columbia.
