The workshop provides a comprehensive and insightful exploration of Indigenous knowledge and cultural practices. This workshop covers several crucial topics, offering participants a deep understanding and appreciation of Indigenous traditions and contemporary issues.

Workshop Topics:

Medicine Wheel Teachings:
Learn about the Medicine Wheel, a powerful symbol of balance and interconnectedness in Indigenous cultures. Understand its significance and how it applies to holistic well-being.

Cultural Appropriation vs. Appreciation:
Gain clarity on the difference between cultural appropriation and cultural appreciation. This session helps participants engage with Indigenous traditions respectfully and meaningfully.

Terminology:
Understand the importance of using respectful and accurate terminology when discussing Indigenous peoples, cultures, and histories. This segment focuses on fostering respectful communication.

Residential Schools:
Explore the history and lasting impact of residential schools on Indigenous communities. This discussion emphasizes the importance of acknowledging and understanding this dark chapter in history.

94 Calls to Action:
Discuss the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s 94 Calls to Action, highlighting ways individuals and organizations can contribute to reconciliation efforts.

This workshop is designed to educate, inspire, and foster meaningful connections between participants and Indigenous cultures. Whether you are new to these topics or looking to deepen your understanding, the Medicine Bag Workshop provides valuable insights and practical knowledge.
