The first export of LNG by ship from Canada occurred on November 26 when the small LNG bunkering tanker SEASPAN GARIBALDI sailed from the Port of Nanaimo bound for Long Beach, California with about 3,000 tonnes of LNG from FortisBC. The ship is due in Long Beach December 1.

SEASPAN GARIBALDI is 112.8 meters in length, 18.c6 meters in width, 5 meters in draft, with a design speed of 13 knots and registered in Panama. The ship’s capacity is 7,600 cubic metres LNG. She is the first of three built in China for Seaspan Energy of North Vancouver sailing directly to Nanaimo after being delivered by the builders in China Ocotber7.
